On May 8 at 12:00 Noon, the Jeannette Initiative will be holding a media event at the Amphitheatre, located at the corner of Clay Avenue and 6th Street in the Jeannette central business district (CBD), to announce this funding. At the same time, the City of Jeannette, the Jeannette Redevelopment Authority, the Jeannette Business Association, and the Jeannette Initiative will also be announcing the formation of the Jeannette Community Revitalization Partnership, a collaborative effort among these four organizations to initiate a more forward-thinking and unified effort aimed at revitalizing the Jeanette CBD. I am sure you know that Jeannette has not always been at the forefront of positive media coverage in the Pittsburgh media marketplace. We hope that this small façade grant and the formation of the partnership will be a first step in beginning to reverse that trend. We also hope that over the next year or two, Jeannette will be able to put together enough funding to seek designation as a full-fledged PA Main Street Program. In addition, we will be announcing the opening of The Jeannette Initiative’s Mini-Grant Program for 2024.
