The Jeannette Planning Commission was re-established by the City of Jeannette in 2016 to assist with the development and future planning needs of the City.

The planning commission plays a major role in giving advice and providing recommendations to a City Council. Today, land use is an important issue at the local and state level. Land use planning is a topic among state agencies, county and local governments, business and industry, charitable and private foundations, as well as environmental organizations. Our planning commission is on the front-line regarding land use issues. Its job is to advise City Council and city officials on planning and community development matters.

Meetings are at 6:00 p.m. and are located in City Council Chambers at City Hall.

Regular meetings occur on the second Wednesday of each month.
