New Zoning Ordinance
The Proposed Zoning Ordinance and Map Amendments are now available for public review.
Public Notice will published via local newspaper. This notice is to announce the availability of the draft ordinance and how the public can access a copy for review, which will be available at City Hall and also via this website. We will also publish a date, time and place of for Public Hearing on this new Zoning Ordinance.

The Building and Zoning Department administers the Zoning Use Ordinance which regulates the placement of accessory structures including pools, fences, sheds and garages.
The department handles all Subdivision and Land Development plans pertaining to a change of use for residential and commercial developments.
Permit applications must be submitted and approved prior to construction for items such as:

Subdivision and Land Development modifications
Building Permit Requirements
Residential Permits (for 1 or 2 bedroom dwellings)
NOTE: A ZONING PERMIT MAY BE REQUIRED FOR ALL SHEDS, GARAGES, POOLS, FENCES, WALLS, GAZEBOS, ANY STRUCTURES, DRIVEWAYS, SIGNS, CARPORTS. Please check with your local municipality.
Building Permit Exemptions
New replacement windows (same size)
New doors (same size)
Roof shingles (only residential)
Hot water tank (replacing existing)
Plumbing fixtures (sink, toilet, etc – replacing existing)
Deco – Shutters, mailbox, light fixtures
Flooring (tile, carpet and wood flooring)
Drywall and plaster repairs
Pools under 24″ high and no pump
This permit is necessary for all new signs, changes to signs and relocation of signs. No sign may be erected, changed, or moved prior to the issuance of a sign permit.
