May 5, 2024 Ligonier Valley Free Museum Day!
Explore five Ligonier Valley museums including Compass Inn Museum, Fort Ligonier, Ligonier Valley Rail Road Museum, Lincoln Highway Experience, and the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art for FREE! From extraordinary art and rare artifacts to transportation history including wagons, trains, and cars, these five museums have planned a fun day of activities, demonstrations, and tours both inside and out for participants of all ages. The Jeannette Historical Society has placed a beautiful display in the Library harkening us back to our “Glass” roots.  The display cases feature glass items and articles highlighting Jeannette Glass, Westmoreland Glass and St. George Crystal. Stop by the Library to check them out in person.


Did you know that The Jeannette Initiative has a fund established through the YWCA in Greensburg to cover the cost of classes for Jeannette residents and businesses?
 Upcoming classes (April through June) include topics such as Computer Basics, Windows 11, Word and Excel. Additionally, an onlne QuickBooks class will be held on April 12.  The fee for this class is $150.00 and can be covered by the fund. To register call the YWCA at 724-834-9390 and tell them that you want to use the Jeannette Initiative fund. Make sure to give your business or resident address when registering. Click here for a list of upcoming classes!
