Good Afternoon JBA Members and Friends,
The date of the “Jimmy Sapienza and Five Guys Named Moe” concert has been rescheduled for Saturday, November 4th at the JBA Event Center inside the Jeannette American Legion. If you purchased tickets or you have tickets to sell, they will be honored on the 4th of November. If you are selling tickets please simply mark out the date of August 26th and write in the date of November 4th.
In a week or two I will be producing new tickets, flyers, posters etc. More details on the shows of November 4th will be forthcoming. One thing that I will tell you now is that there will be “two” acts for the same low price of $15.00. Our goal will still be to sell 300 tickets!
Next up is the Ethnic Food and Fall Festival on October 21st, followed by the newest event “The Ghostwalk” on October 28th.
Any questions…Please let me know. Thanks Very Much!!

NOTICE: A new page dedicated to the Neighborhood Partnership Program has been created on our City website. (http://cityofjeannette.com/npp-program.html) You will be able to find information related to past, present and future projects which are primarily dedicated to beautification efforts within the City. There are a host of media articles at the bottom of the page, which will detail much of the history of the NPP program. We will work toward updating the site with more information, pictures of completed projects and prior agendas and financial statements.
UPDATE: State roads, Lewis Avenue and Agnew Road, have recently been milled, repaired and paved. As indicated by the Tribune-Review in a July 20, 2017 article, crews completed repairs to both roadways in late July. The City is greatly appreciative of those efforts.
It was brought to the City's attention that, following completion of the paving, a small section of Lewis Avenue (in the 1100 block) was excavated for an emergency matter. Concerned citizens questioned whether this "street opening" was planned in advance of the new paving.
To fully address the issue, and dispel rumors, the excavation was done by Peoples Natural Gas due to an emergency gas line repair. The utility company placed a One Call just moments before excavating the small area. Pursuant to Ordinance #16-09, pavement less than five (5) years old shall not be opened unless a concern is demonstrated which presents a threat to public health or safety.
The City did not have advance notice due to the emergency nature of this matter. The City received an unrelated One Call in the general area roughly one week prior. (See image below.) This occurred prior to the new paving.
We endeavor to keep all citizens informed of the activities and operations being conducted within our City. If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us directly. We hope to dispel unnecessary rumors and keep our citizens fully informed of our municipal operations.
NOTICE: The City of Jeannette has developed a Pollutant Reduction Plan which is available for public review and comment. This plan will be discussed at the August 2017 City Council public meeting. A copy of the Plan is available here.
This Pollutant Reduction Plan (PRP) has been prepared as part of the MS4 program requirements. The City has posted public notice in the Tribune Review and will allow public inspection and comment on the PRP until September 1, 2017.
The purpose of the PRP is to identify pollutant concerns for runoff and storm water and to provide strategies for best management practices that will allow the City of Jeannette to reduce sediment and pollutants in our sewershed.
NOTICE: From the desk of the City Treasurer. We have received numerous calls from residents who have received their 2017/2018 School District Real Estate taxes directly to their home address instead of the taxes being sent to their bank/mortgage lender. In the event your taxes should have been sent to your lender, simply forward the taxes to them and they will take care of it in regards to your escrow account. Our software records appear to be correct; however, there seems to have been an error with the data that was pulled from our software and sent to the printer (i.e. if it happened, it should not happen again). We apologize for any inconvenience.
Additional Note: The 2017/2018 Occupational & Per Capita taxes will be arriving in “postcard” form this year. This reduced the price of postage for the School District and the formatting allowed for more space to explain the two taxes to residents. For your convenience:
