NOTICE: The new City of Jeannette zoning ordinance remains available for public inspection. You can view the full text of the Draft Zoning Ordinance on the Zoning Department section of our website. http://cityofjeannette.com/zoning-department.html The website was recently updated to include several modifications from the July 19, 2017 Planning Commission special meeting. Also available is the draft version of the new Zoning Map. The last zoning ordinance for the City of Jeannette was completed in 1984.

A timeline for adoption is also available at the City website. This will provide insight as to the anticipated date of completion.

NOTICE: The Recreation Commission meeting for tonight, July 11, 2017 at 6:00 PM, has been cancelled. The next regularly scheduled meeting will take place on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 6:00 PM.

NOTICE: Tonight, July 5, 2017 at 5:30 p.m., will be a Planning Commission (PC) Meeting. The meeting will take place in City Council Chambers at City Hall. This Public Meeting will focus on the Proposed Zoning Ordinance & Map Amendments. A copy of Tonight's Agenda is attached here.

The decision by the PC to hold an informational meeting regarding the Zoning Ordinance and adoption is not required but was requested by the PC during the development process. The PC hopes to answer questions and alleviate concerns regarding the new Ordinance.

This meeting is open to the public. All are welcome, and encouraged, to attend. The PC continues to operate a regimented and highly productive monthly meeting. In the spirit of continuing their efforts to provide efficient monthly meetings, please review the following Public Comment policy.

POLICY STATEMENT: In order to ensure constructive dialog between the Planning Commission and the general public, while balancing the rights of the public with the need to hold orderly and effective Planning Commission Meetings, the City of Jeannette Planning Commission hereby adopts the following Public Comment Policy.
 
While the following rules for public comment are expected to be in force at all times, the Planning Commission regularly accepts informal dialog between members of the citizenry, City staff and the Planning Commission, it is therefore, the authority of the Planning Commission Chair (or in their absence, the Vice-Chair) to enforce them at his/her discretion.
 

1. Signing in to the meeting: All who wish to speak must sign in prior to the public comment period beginning. Name, address and topic/issue must show on the sign-in sheet.
   
2. Speaking order follows the sign-in sheet.
3. Public comment follows the new business in the agenda.
4. Public comment period shall not exceed 30 minutes.
5. Individual public comments shall not exceed five minutes.
6. There is no expectation that the Chair must respond to public comment, but may do so at his/her discretion. The Chair may further allow other Planning Commission members and staff to respond, at his/her discretion.
7. All those who wish to offer public comment are to address the Planning Commission Chair and are expected to speak courteously.
